Hawker Britton Managing Director Simon Banks has taken aim at Peter Dutton and the Coalition for their statements regarding Australia’s 2030 climate targets. Opposition leader Peter Dutton says he will not quit the Paris Accord or give up on net zero. It is understood Mr Dutton's recent dismissal of the 2030 climate target was due to the goal being unachievable. “The Coalition is in a complete steaming mess about this,” Mr Banks said. “Not quite sure about what Peter Dutton thought he was going to do but to kick off a debate about whether or not they’re going to commit to the Paris targets then trying to walk back over the course of the weekend. “Can’t actually explain what their policy is or isn’t.”
